Judd Henkes – The Prodigy – Episode 120

Judd Henkes is a snowboarding prodigy. At the age of 14 he made the halfpipe finals at the US Open, arguably one of the toughest cuts in the entire sport. Also, he is a slope rider, making the achievement that much more remarkable. Last season, he podiumed a Grand Prix and the World Championships, and was in an Absinthe snowboard film. And Judd is just getting started.

Mons Roisland – Norwegian Olympian – Episode 118

Mons is a name you may have not have heard of - but probably should have. He is a Norweigan snowboarder, an Olympian and X-Games Medalist, but has often been in the shadow of higher profile Norweigans like Stale Sandbech and Marcus Kleveland. He is also likely to make the finals of any event he enters - and is becoming more likely with each passing season top end up on the podium.  At 22 years old, Mons has a bright future in the sport and plenty of years to compete, film and ride at the highest level in the sport. 

Michael Akira West – Founder of 686- Episode 116

Michael Akira West started Jib 686 Enterprises in 1992 as a college project. Influenced by the early skate culture in SoCal and the Big Bear snowboard scene Mike launched a small collection of denim, technical outerwear, and accessories and never looked back. In 1995 Jib 686 became just 686 and that's when Mike launched the Smarty 3-in-1 layering system spawning more than two decades of innovation in snowboarding outerwear. We stopped by their headquarters in Compton, CA. to talk with Mike about what it takes to start a company and grow it into one of snowboarding's powerhouses, the business philosophy of Kaizen, and the importance of cultural influence in product design.
