Pro Files Featuring Sven Thorgren • From Podiums & Video Parts to Backyard Parks

Sven first made his mark on professional riding by winning the 2013 Air and Style in Beijing China. Soon he found himself narrowly missing the podium - and an Olympic medal - in Sochi. He has gone on to many victories and podiums - at World Cup and X-Games events. But we start out with his most recent finish - 2nd place at the first post pandemic World Cup event. We touch on a bunch of subjects in this interview - notably his opening part in the recent Scandalnavians 2 movie as well as the backyard park he has been perfecting his home in Sweden for the last couple of years.

Pro Rider Life with Fridge and Mons Roisland

We have done a lot of different episodes this fall - but not a lot on pro riders. It seems like with the travel restrictions, lack of events and premieres, it became a lot more difficult to 'do your job' as a professional snowboarding athlete. So I checked in with two of my favorite Norweigan pros - Fridtjof Sæther Tischendorf aka Fridge and Mons Roisland who just came off a podium finish at the first major contest in ten months.

Pro Files Featuring Bob Carlson • Founder of Arbor Snowboards 3.36

25 years ago the snowboard industry was a much different place. There were hundreds of brands competing for a foothold on what many people saw as a lucrative marketplace. Fast forward 25 years and almost all of those brands are gone - save for two - Never Summer and Arbor Snowboards. Over the years they have created a unique place in the market through differentiation - namely being the first environmentally oriented brand.  In this interview we talk to Arbor founder Bob Carlson about the rocky road to being a major player in the sport today.

Trond Dyb is a dedicated snowboarder that you probably haven't heard of. That is because he spends his season chasing powder oil remote Norway, Japan and Alaska. And those are the common ports of call. What sets Trond apart is his day job - helping manage Norway's arctic research station in Antartica. This job has led Trond to snowboard places few if anyone has ever been, bringing new meaning to the term 'First Descent.'
